Charles MacLean might never have imagined while he was riding a Norton Commando through the countryside of England in the 70’s where his trip was leading him. A few months into the trip of a lifetime, Charles took a job at a pub for extra gas money. There he met brewmasters who took him under their wing and taught him the art of English Ale making.
Charles brought this knowledge back to Canada and began helping to set up breweries while brewing in small batches on his farm. Somehow, a few people in the community would always seem to know when he was making a delivery. They’d be waiting patiently as he was unloading the truck while clutching a fistful of bills. It was known to sell out quickly.
Into the years where most would retire, Charles met partners Michael D’Agnillo and Curtis Schmalz. They convinced the wizard to come down from the mountain and build a new brewery in Hanover, Ontario. Now they work together to take Charles’ brew to all of Ontario and Beyond.
